Here are some of the top industry highlights from September of 2024.

  1. Toronto International Film Festival 2024 Kicks Off

TIFF 2024 (Sept 5-15) featured world premieres, such as Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis and Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door. With over 200 films, TIFF once again was a major hub for film professionals and enthusiasts worldwide.

Demi Moore returned to the big screen in The Substance, a psychological thriller about a revolutionary product promising the creation of a “better version” of oneself. The film explores the darker side of human perfection, won ‘Best Screenplay’ at Cannes and is recieving wide-acclaim.

  1. Brad Pitt and George Clooney Reunite in Wolfs

Hollywood heavyweights Brad Pitt and George Clooney team up for Wolfs, a gritty drama about two lone wolf fixers crossing paths. The movie hit select theaters and is now available for streaming on AppleTV+.

  1. Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash Marks 10th Anniversary with Special Screening

TIFF 2024 hosted a 10th-anniversary screening of Whiplash, celebrating the critically acclaimed drama’s lasting impact on modern cinema. The film also re-released to select theaters.

  1. Halle Berry Leads Thriller Never Let Go

Halle Berry stars in Never Let Go, a suspenseful thriller where a family is haunted by a malevolent spirit. The film promises chilling moments and psychological depth.

  1. Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson Shine in A Different Man

Sebastian Stan stars in A Different Man, alongside Adam Pearson. The film follows Edward, a man undergoing facial reconstructive surgery, who becomes obsessed with an actor playing him in a stage play.
